HMHS Britannic, Olympic Class Ocean Liner. Built for the White Star Line, third and largest ship in its class, and sister ship to RMS Olympic and RMS Titanic.

Britannic was launched just before the start of the First World War and converted to a hospital ship in 1915.  On the morning of 21 November 1916 she struck an underwater mine in the Channel off the Greek island of Kea and sank 55 minutes later, with the loss of 30 people.

Britannic was the largest ship lost in the First World War.
