USS Canberra

USS Canberra (CA-70), a WW (II), Baltimore class heavy cruiser of the United States Navy.  Originally to be named USS Pittsburgh, the ship was renamed, prior to its launch, to honour the loss of HMAS Canberra during the Battle of Savo Island, 7th August 1942.  USS Canberra is the only USN warship to be named after a foreign warship/capital city.
