LNER Class A3 4472 Flying Scotsman is a 4-6-2 Pacific, steam locomotive built in 1923 for operation on the London and North Eastern Railway (LNER). Designed by Sir Nigel Gresley at the Doncaster Works, the locomotive ran the first non-stop London to Edinburgh service in 8 hours and 3 minutes.

LNER Class A4 4468 Mallard is a 4-6-2 ("Pacific") streamlined steam locomotive built in 1938 for operation on the London and North Eastern Railway (LNER). Designed by Sir Nigel Gresley, Mallard holds the world speed record for steam locomotives at 126 mph (203 km/h).

Built between 1961-62 by the English Electric Company, the British Rail Class 55 Deltic, were the most powerful single-unit diesel locomotives in the world, with a power output of 3,300 hp (2,500 kW). The other notable features of the locomotive was its large size, by British standards, and striking American bulldog nosed styling.
